Albert "Bert" Hugh Brabner Jones, born August 8, 1894, had the sea in his blood. So did his two brothers Harold and Robert. His father was a marine steward and his mother came from a seafaring family.
Bert did not sign on as crew for Titanic until April 4, 1912, about six days before departure. He was an AB Seaman and recently worked on the Majestic on the Victualling Crew.
He was hired on Titanic as a Second-class Saloon Steward. His monthly wage was £3, 15 shillings.

Jones, Albert (Bert) Jones, age 17, eldest son of Hugh and Elizabeth Jones of Southampton, died April 15, 1912 at sea on the SS Titanic. His body was never recovered.
