- Food Server in dining room, ala carte or buffet
£9 to £11 per month
- First Class Bedroom Steward
- Chief Electrician
- First Class Chef
- Chief Cleaning Steward
- Stewards at Special Functions
- Restaurant assistant head waiter
- Senior Turkish Bath Attendant
- Racquet Steward (tennis)
- Printer Stewards
- Chief Stewart (third class)
- Assistant Electrician
- Engineer's Secretary
- Saloon Steward First Class
- Second-class Bedroom Stewards
- Assistant Laundry Steward
Stewards were assigned to various departments throughout the ship.
- As a cabin steward or stewardess, they were assigned from 5 to 25 cabins spread across First-and Second-class. Their duties were according to a passenger's class. They would tidy staterooms several times per day, place clean towels and linens, answer calls to cabins, and turn down beds. Average monthly salary: £9 to £11
- As a personal maid and/or governess to one or more cabins for a voyage. Average monthly salary - £7 to £8.
Stewardesses
Stewardesses were paid slightly less than male stewards at £2 10s per month which amounts to a little bit more than £24 per year.
One British Pound converts to $1.31 US, so their £24 converts to $31. Keep in mind that was their salary per year.
